About Jessica Reynolds

I'm Jess, the person behind Reynolds Counselling and Wellness. I didn't choose this work because I believe I have all the answers. I chose it because I've always been fascinated by people, our stories, the experiences that shape us and why two people can go through something similar yet experience it completely differently.

My own life experiences have played a part in that too. I've experienced being the person seeking support and know what it feels like to sit on the other side. It's given me an appreciation for just how personal the decision to reach out can be, and it's something I carry with me in my work today.

I'm naturally curious, and that extends beyond traditional ideas of emotional wellbeing. I'm particularly interested in the relationship between mind and body, how our experiences can show up physically, and what happens when we've spent a long time pushing through, adapting or simply getting on with things. It's one of the reasons I've continued developing my knowledge around areas such as the nervous system, somatic awareness, chronic pain and the physical experience of anxiety and stress.

I'm also someone who values individuality. Humans are complicated, and I think that's a good thing. I don't expect everybody to connect with the same ideas or find the same things helpful. My original training is humanistic and person-centred, and today I work integratively, allowing my practice to continue evolving as I learn, undertake further professional development and work with different people and experiences.

There's another side of me that has always been drawn to more holistic ways of thinking about wellbeing. My own unique experiences, alongside a longstanding fascination with crystals, their geology, history and symbolism, eventually led me to train in Crystal Energy Healing. I offer this separately from counselling, as a different kind of experience for those who feel drawn to it.

Away from qualifications and professional titles, I think what I bring most to this work is genuine interest in people. I'm interested in the person behind the reason they have come to see me and the things that make them uniquely themselves.

Experience Supporting Bereavement and Grief

I have two and a half years’ clinical and professional experience at Rowans Hospice, providing bereavement counselling to people following the death of a loved one.

Through this work, I have supported people experiencing grief in many different ways. Bereavement does not follow a predictable path or timetable, and the impact of losing someone can reach far beyond sadness. It can affect relationships, identity, sleep, concentration, work and everyday life, and can bring emotions that sometimes feel difficult to understand or share with those around you.

My experience of bereavement work has reinforced the importance of allowing grief to be experienced without trying to rush, minimise or 'fix' it. Sometimes what is needed is a place where the reality of a loss can be spoken about openly and where whatever you are experiencing has room to exist.

My Work in Energy Healing

My connection with energy healing began during the COVID-19 lockdown, when I completed my Level 2 Practitioner Certificate in Crystal Energy Healing. What began as a new area of learning quickly became something I felt deeply connected to, and over the past six years I have continued to develop my knowledge, practice and experience.

Alongside my counselling practice, I now offer energy healing as a separate service, providing a different way of supporting personal growth and wellbeing. For me, energy healing creates an opportunity to work on a deeper, more intuitive level, beyond the need to put everything into words.

My sessions incorporate ethically sourced crystals and are approached in a calm, grounded and individual way. You don't need any previous experience of energy healing or an understanding of crystals, as each session is shaped around you and what you bring to the space.

Energy healing is offered separately from counselling and is not a replacement for psychological therapy or medical treatment. Choosing counselling with me does not involve energy healing, and choosing energy healing does not mean entering into a counselling relationship.
