Online Counselling

Across the UK and Internationally

Online counselling offers a flexible way to access therapy without needing to travel to a counselling room. Sessions take place by video call or telephone, allowing you to access counselling from a private and comfortable space wherever you are based. I offer individual online counselling for adults using the same humanistic, person-centred and integrative approach as my face-to-face work. The way we meet may be different, but the therapeutic relationship and the work we do together remain just as important.

Online counselling can be particularly helpful if you live further away from Chichester, have work or other commitments that make travelling difficult, experience health or mobility challenges, or simply prefer having counselling from your own environment.

Before beginning counselling, all new clients have a free 15-minute discovery call with me. Choosing a counsellor is personal, and the call gives us an opportunity to speak before deciding whether we would like to work together. You can briefly tell me what has brought you to counselling and what you are hoping for from support, ask any questions you may have, and we can discuss practicalities such as availability and whether you would prefer to work online or face-to-face.

The discovery call is a required part of beginning counselling with me, but there is no obligation to continue afterwards. It is an opportunity for us both to consider whether working together feels like the right fit before arranging your first session.

If you live locally and would prefer to meet face-to-face, you can explore my in-person counselling service in Chichester.

Counselling Sessions and Fees

Counselling sessions are tailored to what you need from our work together. Following your free 15-minute discovery call, we can arrange your first session if we both feel that working together is a good fit.

90-Minute Initial Assessment Session: £100

For your first session, you can choose an optional 90-minute initial assessment session if you would prefer a little more time when we begin working together. You are equally welcome to begin with a standard 50-minute session if you would prefer. The 90-minute session is simply an additional option for clients who feel they would benefit from having more time at their first appointment.

All first counselling sessions include an initial assessment, which helps me understand a little more about you, what has brought you to counselling, relevant history and anything important for me to be aware of as we begin our work together.

Choosing the 90-minute option gives us more time for this process without it taking up most of your first session. Once we have completed the assessment, there is still plenty of time for you to begin exploring what has brought you to counselling and experience the therapeutic work itself.

50-Minute Counselling Session: £65

My standard counselling sessions are 50 minutes and can take place weekly or fortnightly, depending on what feels most suitable for you and your circumstances.

Appointments don't need to be at the same time or on the same day each week. Where possible, we can arrange sessions around your availability, giving you flexibility while still maintaining the regularity that is important to the therapeutic process.

If you prefer to plan your counselling sessions in advance, I also offer block booking payment arrangements. This can be helpful if you would like to make a commitment to a regular period of counselling and have your sessions arranged ahead of time. Block bookings are discussed and agreed with me in advance and are paid in full on the agreed payment date.

Concessionary Rates

I offer a limited number of reduced-rate online counselling sessions for students and key workers at £55 per 50-minute session. Concessionary rates are available for online counselling only and are subject to availability.

How Does Online Counselling Work, and Is It Right for Me?

Online counselling takes place through a secure video call, allowing us to see and speak to one another in real time. You will need a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone and a private space where you feel comfortable talking without being interrupted.

If you would prefer not to use video, I also offer counselling by telephone. This can be a helpful alternative if you feel more comfortable without a camera, have limited access to video calls or simply prefer speaking over the phone.

Sessions work in much the same way as face-to-face counselling. You don't need to prepare anything beforehand or know exactly what you want to talk about. The main difference is that we meet remotely rather than in the same room.

For some people, this offers greater flexibility and makes counselling easier to fit around work, family life or other commitments. It can also make regular sessions more accessible if you live further away, have mobility difficulties or experience chronic pain, illness or fatigue that can make travelling more challenging. You may simply feel more comfortable speaking from the familiarity of your own environment.

For others, attending a counselling room and having that physical separation from everyday life feels more helpful. There isn't one format that is right for everyone, and your preference may depend on your circumstances and what feels most comfortable for you.

As you don't need to live near my practice in Chichester, I am able to offer online counselling to adults throughout the UK and, where appropriate, internationally. If you live outside the UK, please let me know where you are based when you get in touch so I can confirm whether I am able to work with you from your location. Please note that I am unable to provide counselling to clients located in the United States or Canada.

If you are unsure whether online, telephone or face-to-face counselling would suit you best, we can discuss the options during your free discovery call.

A space for connection, wherever you are.
