All information shared within counselling sessions is treated as confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties without your explicit consent, except in the limited circumstances outlined below.

Limits to Confidentiality

Confidentiality may need to be broken if there are serious concerns about safety or where I am legally or ethically required to do so. This includes situations where:

• There is a risk of serious harm to you or to another person.

• There is disclosure of abuse or neglect involving a child or vulnerable adult.

• I am required to disclose information by a court of law.

• There is disclosure of serious criminal activity, including terrorism-related activity, that poses a risk to others.

• There is disclosure or evidence of money laundering.

Wherever possible, I will aim to discuss this with you before taking any action.

Supervision

As part of good professional practice, I attend regular clinical supervision. Supervision provides a confidential space to reflect on my work and ensure ethical, safe, and effective practice.

Client material discussed in supervision is anonymised, and identifying details are avoided wherever possible. In rare circumstances, limited information may be shared where there are serious ethical or safeguarding concerns.

Record Keeping

Brief client notes are kept in line with professional and legal requirements. These notes are stored securely in digital format and are not shared with anyone without your consent, except where required by law.

Communication

Communication outside of sessions (such as email or text) is kept to practical and administrative matters, including appointment arrangements and payments. Please note that email and text communication cannot be guaranteed as fully secure, and sensitive information is best discussed within sessions.

Energy Healing Sessions

Confidentiality applies equally to energy healing sessions. Any personal information or experiences shared during these sessions are treated with the same respect and confidentiality as counselling work, subject to the same limits outlined above.

Your Rights

You have the right to ask questions about confidentiality at any time. This policy will also be discussed during initial sessions so that you can make an informed decision about engaging in counselling or energy healing.
